Shibata Emori became the Kenjutsu instructor for the Japanese metropolitan police and one of the Kurama Ryu technique,"Henka"was adopted as one of the 10 Kenjutsu kata officially practiced by Japanese metropolitan police known as
"Keishi Ryu". "Henka", commonly known as "Makiotoshi" by modern Kendo practitioners is definitely one of the most sophisticated and effective technique in Japanese Kenjutsu arsenal. The style is curently active in Tokyo area. Kurama Ryu Bokken features almost no sori ( blade curvature) and comes fitted with a wooden tsuba.
