Our Price:
¥5,650.00
Keishi Ryu
may not be considered as a Koryu (classical) Kenjutsu style by definition as the style was developed during
Meiji
restoration period as an official set of kata to be practiced by Japanese metropolitan police members. However, it can be categorized as Koryu in terms of the techniques, as the style's repertoire consists of effective kata/technique selected from different school of Koryu Kenjutsu. The repertoire include 10 Kenjutsu kata, 5 standing Iaijutsu kata and 16 Jiujutsu kata. Unfortunately Iaijutsu and Jiujutsu kata have been petty much lost. The style is still practicesd by Japanese metropolitan police members, along with kendo. The Keishi Ryu Bokken's moderate weight and size makes it a great choice for those who prefer the design of the standard bokken but looking for a bokken a little heavier and stronger.
